THE GLORY ALBUM
How do you follow up a top 5 R&B album as a
Christian artist? You do it again with The Glory Album.
Decidedly more rap based, The Glory Album will be viewed as the turning point of Christon’s career. While the Billboard charts took notice, it was the song Stop Me that captured the imagination of the world. Featured on HBO’s Ballers, FOX’s Lethal Weapon, ESPN, the ESPY’s, in commercials
for the Honda and the movie Rampage, even as the intro for Madden 19, its arguable that it was the biggest crossover success in Christian music. And with songs like ‘Open Door (See You Later)’ and ‘Ft. Knox’ both making Apple Music’s Best of the Week, The Glory Album has proven to be a classic for Jesus music lovers. Recorded for RCA Inspiration in 2015, TGA is the storm before the calm in Christon’s life and that is one of the key reasons it hit close to home for

SCHOOL OF ROSES
Created from a place of love, hurt and confusion, School of Roses stands alone as a throwback to the days of great R&B. Recorded over 2013 and 2014 for Collision Records, Christon and the label collaborators bucked the trend that was popular at the time and made music for the soul. This albums journey takes you through love, heartbreak, promiscuity, hope, trust and disappointed. As you’ve come to expect from Christon Gray, he holds nothing back. Debuting at #5 on the Billboard R&B charts, and spawning the hits ‘Vanish’, ‘Wanna’, and ‘After All’, SOR has it’s spot reserved in the annals of Jesus music.
EVEN WITH EVIL WITH ME
While many people look to Christon’s breakout album, School of Roses, as his first foray as a solo artist, true fans are quick to bring up Even With Evil With Me. Highlighted by the songs ‘Flamingo’, ‘Reign’ as well as his cover of ‘Mender of Broken Hearts’, EWEWM stands as a pilar in the Columbus natives catalog. But it’s the classic track, and one of Christon’s most popular songs, ‘Isle of You’ that sets this collection apart. When referring to that song, Christon is quoted as saying, “If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me to sing ‘Isle of You’ at their wedding, I would have retired by now."
You Don't Know
Sampled, Even With Evil With Me
While Christon has been viewed as a major label artist for some time, there were seasons when he was putting out music on his own. Here are some of the singles Christon put out with no label backing.
Whether you call them freestyles, dubplates, promo verses or whatever, it's hard to argue that the backbone of Hip-Hop was strengthened by fresh lyrics over familiar beats. It makes no difference if you're at the top of the game or at the bottom, everyone's gotta spit.
Being a singer and a spitter, Christon has had the opportunity to feature his talents on music from many artists. Below is a listing of some of the highlights:
